Just got my issue of Sports Car from the SCCA.

in the SM2 group Andy Mckee in his FD beat out a miata, Porsche GT2, and Z06 (rounding out the top four)

Not sure if your on the forum but....CONGRATS!

nice pic of ur car BTW, looks like you have the CCW wheels with 18x10 all around! NICE!

I think it is the old Tri-Point car. Congrats to him beating the nasty Z06!

Realy did we expect some other car to win? The 7 never losses.

Good job. I hope they are on the forume. It is nice seeing the FD still on top after 12 years.

Robert...I looked for that too! But it just listed the results for nationals and no specific details of the car.

It does look to have a stock mount IC if indeed the pic was his car. It looked to be a montego blue or black not a red car.

If I had a scanner I would scan the article, otherwise I don't think there is a link that I know of.

Allan Densmore (Spank on here) placed high in SM2 at the nationals. His car is black with a Greddy SMIC, maybe it was a pic of his car?
He told me a red FD got first. Allan placed sixth, I believe.

Good to see the old FD can still compete highly on the national level.

The Tri-point car was built back in 98 (?) and took ASP that year. IIRC it didn't come back the next year under threat of protest, boost control is not allowed in ASP and we all know you can't get big power without modifying the boost levels.

Allan's car is pretty badass also!

Andy's Car

Andy McKee does indeed have the car built by Tri-Point. However I can tell you the car is faster now that Andy has worked on it.

This is the first year Andy has driven the car. He has developed it well and will continue to do well.

I do not believe Andy is on this forum. However if you search you will find the forum most used by the autoxers and he is on there. I cannot remember the site off hand and I should since I go on there also.

Anyway Andy has a great car and this last year I believe was his 4th championship.

I hope 2005 will be closer racing between he and I.

the 7 can't loose...and even if we do loose.. We still look better ...Speaking of looking better...I am sick of chicks telling me my car is cute...My car is not cute, God damnit! It's a beast that will rape you on the highway...and other places too!

I do envy the sound of a throaty V8 though. When they pull up beside you and rev it up...

V8 = Vrooom Vroomm!
FD = Ziiiinnnggggggg Zinnggggggg!

But they are surprised in the end.

Congrats to the FD!

I run:
Ground Control coil overs
Tri-Point double adjustable Koni's
Tri-Point front modular adjustable swaybar
Tri-Point rear adjustable swaybar
Polyurathane everything I can
Pettit Toe end links
Additional stuff that I do not know what it is called. It was replaced when I replaced the rear subfram and rearend with a 95 unit.
Front wheels are 18x10 Tires 285/30/18
Rear 17x11 Tires 315/35/17

Sorry if I missed anything.

Next year I will be changing my spring rates for next year and thats it.

Hope to see more of us out racing in SM2 next year.

Allan

I've driven that car and it is fast. Sort of obnoxious on the street, loud, big wing, stickers 11" wide rear tires, etc.

It is FAST though.
