my question is where are you guys getting your HP #s. is this from assdynos, or has some1 actually gone to a real dyno. what year mustang is he running, if he is running a 5.0 or 4.6 prior to '98, he would have to have some serious stuff done to his engine, to push 300 at the wheels w/o the nitrous. if it is a 99 or newer he would be pushing about 260 @ the flywheel stock, which means he would have an easier time getting to 300RWHP (versus the 215@flywheel of older models), but still need some pretty decent mods. now if he has a Cobra then those #'s would be feasible.

a stock 96-98 runs 15sec quarter mile time.
a 99-newer gt or cobra runs 14sec.
if it is a 2003-2004 cobra kiss your *** goodbye, we are talking mid to high 12s STOCK.

Unless it is 99-newer I don't believe his claim. It is hard to make 300RWHP out of the 4.6modulars from 96-98; I know I own a 97 Saleen (that is painfully slow even after some intake and exhaust work). The newer mustangs have some added power, but 300RWHP is a stout claim regardless. Again unless you are talking about an almost new cobra. he is probably running 13s...with the nitrous. The question is do you know how fast your car is, do you know how to drive it, and then you have to ask yourself does it matter if i lose?

oh and the thing you have remember is that if a mustang has a more torque over a wider powerband than an FD, so you don't have to be as good a driver to get most of the potential out of a mustang. i think like you learned in the other thread, in an FD you have tach high and stay there to get all you can out of the motor/turbos.

BTW
Lets talk about my favorite subject weight
Mustang 3400-3600 (Convertible or not)
M3 3600+
Supra 3400+
Camaro 3300+
z06 3000+? Maybe lighter or so Ive heard
SRT-4 2960 =/ Scary Very Similair weight to RX8 but more torque
Base Rx7 2785

Its all about power to weight then other variables like traction and torque.

hello,

thanks for the reply ppl. i currently talked to my friend about PFCs (he's got a 7 too) and I decided to get one ASAP. he will help me hook it up. one problem tho is we need to get my car dynoed but dont know where, im here in San Diego miramar area. been searching for one good tuning shop (yahoo and google) can't seem to find any. but......ima keep searching.

for now, ima stay low and keep away from monsters like new camaros and stangs, based on your replies i don't have a chance to win against them so why bother, i'll just keep my engine healthy and save the power for later.

p.s.
i've always wanted to race another 7 tho i know my stock car won't stand a chance but its gonna be fun. its like racing with my cuzins. 1st time ive seen an RX7 is when i was in Japan, it whooped the **** out of this R33 GTR, yeah buddy, i used to have an R32 GTS-t but when i saw the beauty of the 7 i lost my mind, i wanna get one ASAP.

peace!!!!

Gee, a little bit of difference between "completely stock with Haltech putting down 350 rwhp" and what you just posted above, isn't there?

Post the sheet, including A/F ratios.

rynberg's point is you said your car was stock with a haltech and made 350rwhp. We know these cars can make 350rwhp @15psi on the stock twins, but hten you come back and say you have full exhaust, larger injectors, etc. Well yeah that makes a big difference. To us "stock" doesn't mean the car is totally upgraded except the motor is still "stock" internals since you didn't upgrade any of that.

Send the 100 shot NOS stang my way. I smoke him bad again. Power to weight and at speed the less weight is key.

P.S. Just took a brand new EVO.

Yeah... horsepower and torque numbers evenly divisible by 5 always make me raise an eyebrow...
