FD Tax Value
The assessed value of my FD is $3200.00 Annual bill = $62.00
On rare occasions this car does put some money back in your pocket, I don't think I could drive a '96 Civic and beat that deal.
What's the tax value on a '09 Cayman S (the only car I would even consider swapping my FD for)?

For our '94 FD:
2007-2008 License & registration = $110
2008 -2009 =$113
2009-2010 = $147
(All years include vanity plate fee)
Welcome to California!

The registration tax rate in California changed in 2009 so the increase does not represent a change in the underlying value of the car.
This question probably belongs in the regional forum because the concept of the tax value of a car does not exist in most states and varies significantly between states. For example, the value for the purpose of calculating the registration fee for a car in California appears to be close to the blue book value of the car, though I think it may also be calculated from the last sale price of the car with some annual depreciation. There is also some minimum value per car calculated each year irrespective of the last sale value.

In NC, you pay a tag/inspection fee of about $30/year, plus a vehicle tax, which is based on the assessed value. Some states have a flat registration fee, which makes it cheaper to drive a more expensive car. Here they annually rape you for high priced cars.

Your registration fee is off by about $30.... and it also gets determined by the vehicles year. As an example...my wifes '09 Fusion is $75 to renew....The "NEW" charges have been in place since last year due to the states deficit. Also, renewing your driver's lincense has now been doubled from it's previous dollar amount..

Fraid not joe i paid $ 30 back in August before the new rates took place, and i pay an extra $25 for that Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tag (only because it the red matches the look of the car.)
The benz is also $ 30 (with another $15 for the Marines Tag)
I guess registration doubled just after I renewed.
Not looking fwd when i renew in 2012.
