Unhappy fd startup then stumble.... :(

Hi there guys..

Anyways i started the rx7(95 fd, stock jap) up after a week..Turned on the key, everything fine, revs jumped above 1000rpm then dropped to about 900 as normal.. still idling till about 10sec later...

All of a sudden she starts stumbling and revs drop to about 450rpm as if she has a big misfire and running on 1 rotor only...A bit scared now, i switch her off...

Im not sure what the problem could be...

Could plugs just give up like that ? Or is it something more serious like the apex seals ? She has 108k km's on the clock.. not sure if she has rebuilt or not.

Im here in south africa and rotary mechanics are hard to come by since the only rotary powered car brought here was the rx8 and not many.

I would not worry and just replace the spark plugs. When was the last time you did them? It takes 20 bucks and all of 15 minutes to change them out

How long has it been sitting around? also have you just been starting it or have you been running it around a little? the fuel pump on these cars can go bad very easily if you leave them sitting for too long. she may not be getting sufficient gas, spark or air? i would go with TpCpLaYas advice and switch out the plugs first. if that fails try the plug cables if that fails.... pull out your wallet and jump on it a couple hundred times.

Change the plugs, make sure the map sensor is hooked up and enjoy your car.

Ok cool... Shes currently parked off and has been for sometime...

Last serviced at 105km..

Getting hold of the stock plugs is not easy... Are there other alternatives to the stock ?

Anyways all is good now...

Had the exact same problem like this guy...

https://www.rx7club.com/new-member-rx-7-technical-256/92-rx7-idle-problems-835505/

So i started her up, gave her some gas to stop her from switching off n reved her to 2k and held her there.. miss cleared up after 45sec or so...

Seems like she was flooded...

Used her today..All is good
