FD starts like a Jet

Yep fuel comes in like around 5 seconds at 800 rpm's. Why is my 3rd generation rx7 hard to start and even harder to start when it is hot? Does the starting circuit enriches the fuel mixture for starting or leans it out? Can someone tell me what happens during starting step by step.

your engine is probably low on compression, that's when it starts to become harder to start when hot.

jeff at rotary power told me that =)

Thanks for your reply. The first thing I did was a compression test at 87 to 90 psi. The car run very strong at 7 psi of boost. However when I let off the gas pedal, puffs of smoke will come out of the exhaust system. Is this because of the modifiation to the tudos to non-sequential done improperly? And good amount of solinoids was removed from the system.

I was told by Dave at KD that when the car is hard to start then it's either low fuel pressure/volume or low compression. If you've excluded the compression then you should check your fuel pressure and make sure it holds after you've shut the car off! Good luck.
