FD Sound Question.
I have a 93 Touring edition FD which came with the BOSE wave system. However, the wave system was removed by a previous owner, so basically the only speakers my car has is the in-door 6.5's and tweeters, which equals to a whole lot of highs, and no mid's or lows.
My question is how/where have some of you installed some mid-range 6x8's in your FD with the bose system removed?
I believe the non-bose FD's had mid range speakers in the rear quarter panels, where the bose FD's have lil cubby holes? is this true? Anyone find a way to put some 6x8's in place of the cubby holes? Pictures would be great
Thanks in advance.
Some of you might think this belongs in the interior/exterior/audio section but I think it would better be answered in the 3rd generation specific forum, since my question relates to 93's and above.

My car didn't come with the 6x8's in the back because it had the bose wave system originally

Do some searching in the interior/exterior/audio section - I've been doing a lot of reading up on stereo stuff myself .
The stock system on the non-Bose cars had speakers in the doors, and 5x7's in the rear where your storage pockets are. Probably wouldn't be too hard to track down the speaker grills that replace the pockets and the brackets that go behind the plastic that hold the speaker in place. Or, you could custom-make a mount for the speaker back there.
I think, if you want to run an aftermarket head unit and speakers, you'll likely need to bypass the various Bose amps and whatnot. Again, do some searching on that one - I didn't focus on a lot of the Bose stuff, since I have an R2 and no Bose .
