my RX7 experience thus far *video*

from start to finish. From tearing it apart and till yesterday's racing at Great Lakes Dragway.

Hold your comments on my crappy launches and shifting, I know I suck and that clutch bites hard.
I know some people might be curious of a sound clip of the Apex'i N1 exhaust with DP/MP combo.
pics of all the mods I did are in the video

And giving credit where credit is due... I like to thank RX7Club.com for teaching me the ways of the rotary

52 MB WMV (720X480 29.97fps @1500KB/sec)
Cryptic RX-7 Video (large version)

5.5 MB WMV (320 X 240 @ crappy bit rate)
Small version

(ps - I go by Cryptic on other boards, in case your curious of the name)

Cool video, Pretty RX7 too. Have you not tried smoking the tires before launching? I didn't notice any burn outs in the lanes there. Thanks for sharing and enjoy.

10 psi except for 2 runs then I tried 12 psi. I wasnt sticking my 2-3 shift at all.

I know the car has more potential. I just didnt put it together on the track.

Nice video, unless you have slicks a burnout isn't going to do anything.

Nicely produced. What fuel pump did you put in the car? You might be able to fix that 2-3 shift by buy a damper. You can get one at Rotaryextreme.com. Good to see you beat that Stang.

that is false my friend. i could never get lower than 2.1 in the 60ft without a burnout or lowering the tire pressure. 1/4 time went from 14.1 to 13.5 a big difference.

You will get better traction if you are using drag radials.

hopping like a **** on launches... the tires on the car have tread but are like 5 years old.

like dry rotted almost. tires will have to wait... me = broke.

ok, first off, and no offense to you but hate the way apexi n1's sound on rx7s, sounds like popcorn popping or something...

and about doing a burnout on street tires.. it does make sense, maybe not on the launch but you will eliminate some wheel hop...

but yeah, great vid!!

burnout on low tire pressure helped on launches big time. i was always able to get them sticky to the point i was picking up rocks on the return road and beating up my wheel wells. i used to launch at around 7K but with a slightly slipping clutch and pulled off 1.9s in the 60ft constanly on regualr falken ziex tires.

if you are broke don't drag race the car or it will break and you won't be able to fix it lol

hey nice video! very creative
and you were having a lot of problems hooking up. Get some drag radials and you'll see that problem go away and you'll get 12s. Also what shift **** are you using? I find it hard to miss 3d with the stock **** but with any other I miss it a lot. and BTW that burnout (attempt) was pathetic haha here's how to do it. Back up into the water box then go ~3 feet forward. Rev to 7000 and let go of the clutch then quickly hit the break and modulate the throttle...
What you were doing by going through the water and not burning out is the worse thing ever for wheel hop

I didnt really want to do a burnout.. I'm kinda with everyone else that it doesnt do much for street tires... I just like to give them a quick chirp to clean the rocks off and pick up some of the rubber from the track.

I really appreciate the complements on the video, Thanks guys
