Why should I get a 3rd gen RX-7 instead of a S2000?

lol at the first three replies.

First of all the S2000 and FD are two completely different types of cars. It's not really fair to compare one VS the other. What you need to do is ask yourself what it is that you are looking for in a car.

S2000 handling, convertible, reliable. But not known for performance though. IMO more of cruiser car.

FD: Awsome looks, handling, rare (can be a good/bad thing) unreliable (there is always something going on) but when modded properly it will make you blow your load (and wallet ha ha). Instead of a cruiser the FD is a bruiser.

Like the 7 other posts above me... no. If you have to ask you should go with a daily driver.

Good Luck.

S2K for sure, you'll have more people to hang out with and there cars will be able to show up too.

The FD is an old car- expect fixes as well as regular maintanence to keep it in workable condition. You can't go too wrong with the S2k, but you can go VERY wrong if you're not prepared to own an FD.

After driving both, I'd say the two cars aren't completely different at all. Both are built for their handling ability and excute their purposes very well. In straight line speed, the FD has the edge (when working properly), but they are clearly two sports cars that do what they do well, and on paper as well as the street you certainly won't see a huge difference.
