Muscle Mustang ran a 12.8 with a completely stock Ls1 z28. But they do all the tricks (iceing down the intake manifold, putting a fan up to it between runs). But everyone know that muscle mustang is just a bunch of draggers and thats all they do all day so i definitly think most people would be lucky to hit low 13s. But all the power to you, kick some ls1 ***!

I just think unles they have some really horrible drivers over there in those Ls1s that any idiot could hit mid to low 13s after like 2 runs. And as for Z06s running 14s...Jesus thats horrible...I can't sya I havent seen bad Z06 drivers myself though because I saw one do a 13.5 which is horrendous for that car. Any good driver should be running 12.2s stock with that thing and I ahve seen really god drivers hit high high 11s. But I gues it doesnt matter what car your in if you cant driver for ****

High 11's with a stock Z06? What the hell are you talking about? I have never heard of any stock Corvette running 11's. Maybe Lingenfelter's corvette but no stock vette will pull those times. Everywhere I have seen the stock Z06 runs a 12.5 and as bad as a 13.1 with professional drivers so your good drivers running high 11's to 12.2's, must be phenomanal drivers. So a 13.5 is not a good time for a Z06 but it is not horrible considering that most people are not professional drivers.

Something happened on the forum last night where alot of the posts between certain times were erased - the whole forum is like that weird. I give credit to LS1s because they are fast cars. I'm probably running around 300 rwhp at 10 psi and I raced a heavily modded LS1 the other night from 60-120 and pulled only 2 cars. I started about 2 cars back and he shut down when I was in the middle of his car. He wasn't anywhere near stock but I give respect to them. I'm sure he went telling everybody he beat a 3rd gen RX7 since he was revving at me even after the race - whatever - but they are fast. Low-mid 13s are the norm for them.

Even my friends wife (a small Irish lady) drove his Z06 with an intake to a high 12, a 13.5 is pretty shitty.

Are you saying Irish people can't drive there laddy? We Irish are quite impressive behind the wheel, don't you know?

J/K.

I agree that a 13.5 is not a good time but judging a shitty time by what some Irish lass ran is no true indication. A true "shitty" time would be 14's or worse in my opinion.

Well, the point is she was over half a second slower than her husband, who probably weighs 200 lbs more than her. So I'd say that was not a good time, and 13.5 is even worse.

Damn dude, must be soemthin different on the other side of the country. All the kids round here get their mom and dad to buy them a SS or a Firebird and they go to the local shop and get drag radials and a 75 shot. It seems klike all of them have those 2 mods.

Well if she is 100lbs, a small women, and he weighs over 200lbs more. Than he is one hell of a big guy. But weight really only counts as .1 seconds for every 100lbs extra so if she was 100lbs lighter than him and they drove the same then he would hit a 13.3 or so by this common theory. Maybe she is better than a "sucky" driver?

He's huge. Thank god he doesn't go on the internet, but fat bastard in austin powers 2 reminds me of him. He runs 12.1 - 12.2, where are you getting this 13.3?

I am saying that by the statistic that every 100lbs will add .1 second to your 1/4 mile. So if they both drove exactly the same and he weighs 200lbs more than he would run a 13.3. But if he can run a 12.1-12.2 then he is a pretty damn good driver to run a 12.1 in a stock Z06 considering that Road and Tack only ran a 12.6 I think with a professional driver. Was your guy on slicks?

leave statistics in the math book. Statistics cannot count for EVERY variable. Track times have more variables, the averages are harder to attain because one situation can be very different from the next.... Were not magazine racing, but i do understand that there is logic in what you said.

Well, all I was saying is that the car is a capable 12.1-12.2 sec car in the hands of a 300lb pretty good driver. Better than average. It wasn't bone stock, it had an intake, but stock tires. Then in the hands of his wife, she drove it to a high 12, don't quite remember the exact time. So in my mind, any time slower than a 13 flat is pretty pathetic. I had another friend in a bone stock 01 Z06 run a 12.4, he's a good driver. Another guy ran a 12.5 in his, he had bolt ons but also had 19" rims and was slammed (gets bad wheel hop). Actually, it's the yellow Z06 in my sig pic.

As for magazines testing cars and so on, if you notice, alot of magazines are based in LA and do their testing in LA. LA has some of the worst tracks (the magazines usually don't tell you what tracks they're at but...) and they run them in hot days, etc. Also, magazines rarely abuse the car at all.
