FD question (Base? R1? R2?)
Hey guys. I've got a question for the FD crowd.
Today I was eating lunch with my mom, and she told me about this "pretty black car" she saw for sale in my neighborhood. She said she thought it was a toyota.
So on the way home, I drive by where she said it was...
...and ******* lock up my brakes trying to stop when I see a beautiful black FD.
So I pull over and hop out to look at it. Problem is, I'm not an FD guy so I don't know what kind it is. It's a 1993. The interior was black, with black cloth buckets. It had a rear spoiler, and it had this black lip spoiler thing in the front. I'm not sure if that's enough info to tell if it's a base or an r1 or r2 or whatever, but if it is, let me know.
I'm going to give the guy a call (i'm not even in the market for an FD, heh) to see if i can take a better look at it and (gasp) drive the beast.
Thanks

Hard to tell as it is easy to add the lip and wing to a car. Look at the passenger side below the headlight cover. If you see an oil cooler, it is most likely an R1. Base models will only have an oil cooler on the driver side and a black plastic cover on the passenger side.

The R1 does not have a sunroof, cruise, nor a rear wiper, but has black suede-ish seats (unless they replaced them), dual oil coolers, a front suspension brace (I think they are all red), chin spoiler, rear wing, and hard suspension tuning.

Cool. With any luck I'll be able to drive it - although I doubt there's any chance I'd be able to afford it. And no offense to you FDers, but I'm not sure if I'd even want it - I don't have the kind of money that the cars require in upkeep, as a brokeass college student (well, I'll be one in two weeks).
