This questionnaire was late for me. From December 23 through early Feb. 24, I completed the RX-8 AC compressor conversion on my March 1992 R1 which I have owned since June 1992.
This also included removing the evaporator coil for cleaning and installation of a new expansion valve. Total cost about $1200.

How does the ac compare from the factory to the RX8 conversion?

Since it is still cold here in Houston, I proper test can not be made. It will reach 79 next week. Maybe then.

You could search for others who made this change here on the forums.

The market awaits!

It is great that nearly 60% of respondents so far plan to attend cars and coffee!

Get your cars out and show them off!

(Does driving to cars and coffee count as a cruise? Certainly my 3 hour round trip to the AutoX track was part of the fun!))

FD related plans for 2024:
1. Prep the FD for the 2024 autocross season. This includes the usual maintenance such as engine oil changes, tranny/diff oil changes. and checking all suspension bolt torque specs. R & R street tire wheel set-up with the autocross 200TW race tire wheel set-up when the weather is nicer. Check alignment and corner balance. If not to my specs, then re-align and corner balance.
2. Buy new 200TW tires for autocross.
3. Attend more Test/Tune sessions and autocross events for 2024.

The goal for 2024 is to improve on my SCCA Solo Nationals place standing in the Xtreme Street A (XA) class. Last year, we made many changes to the car prior to and during the SCCA Solo Nationals 2023 event. Also, I picked up a co-driver for Solo Nationals 2023. This was my first event in the SCCA Xtreme Street A class with the FD. I usually compete in the Super Street Modified class with my FD. For the XA class, I had to add about 200lbs of ballast to the car. Additionally, we competed in the 2023 CAM/Xtreme Street Shootout. This event occurred at the same site prior to Solo Nationals 2023.

My co-driver is Adrian Cardenas and he took 1st place in the 2023 CAM/Xtreme Street Shootout.

For 2023 Solo Nationals, my co-driver placed 5th and I placed 20th out of 35 drivers.

For reference: It was my intention to include "wheels" in the "Suspension/Tires/Steering" category. Maybe that will get more of us into the "more than $5000 category".
