I just picked up a japanese imported 93 FD and it was running hot, I went to open the hood to add coolant and the cable snapped, pulls completely loose from inside, no resistance. I got her home, took of the drivers side tire(RHD) and removed the fender liner and the cable is right there but yanking on it doesn't seem to do anything. I am at a loss here. Looked at the other posts on this but I cannot get to it from under as there is a big ARC FMIC in the way. Any ideas? Pic for attention.
If you have access to the cable to pull it then you need to pull it harder. What may not have broken is the little green piece on the very end of the cable that goes into the latch. You will want to pull hard enough so that it DOES break and then it will trip the latch.
No. Under that black is just stranded wires. You want to just pull on it. The closer you can get to the front of the cable the better. Really reach in there and HEAVE it.... like it owes you something
