Fd with fisch cd009 not fitting
Has anyone installed this kit with the engine still in the car? Im fighting trying to install the tranmission with the engine bolted down. I have loosened and tilted engine, no go. I have seen complete engine and tranmission going in together. Im sure there has to be a way with the engine in the car.

I can't even get it get in close enough for that. I'm going to remove the intercooler pipes to allow the engine to flex down and backwards so more and hopefully that works
Yeah, that's a very tight fit generally speaking and the CD009 does not smoothly slide into the pilot bearing and trans mounts like the original transmission.
I wouldn't even attempt trying to install the transmission with the engine in the car. You really need a 2-post lift and some sort of table/dolly.
(On a 2-post lift):
Disconnect all of the plumbing.
Disconnect the lower control arm from the subframe.
Lower the car onto a table or dolly that allows you access to the 6 subframe bolts.
Remove subframe bolts.
Raise the car with the engine on the subframe.
Install trans to the engine.
Lower back onto the engine/trans.
Reinstall subframe bolts, lower control arms, plumbing, etc...
This is much faster and easier than trying to install the trans onto the engine while it's in the car. If you don't have a 2-post lift then you'll probably have a frustrating road ahead.

For those of you reading, this tranmission is a tight fit. It would not fit with puck style bushings and an oil pan brace. I bought FFE engine mounts and was able to install the transmission, but not without a fight.

You just have to drop the engine and trans, disconnect the trans, then shim the slave accordingly .. pretty easy.
If you are using a clutch that Fisch is providing or recommending, they have that info. If using the ACT clutch for a 370z, no shimming is required.
