Is the fd the first car you've ever modified?

I was just reading through the forum, gathering some much needed rotary knowledge when I started wondering what the story is with my fellow FD owners. Me personally, I'm a boostaholic from way back ( to me 96 is way back lol ), anything with a turbo is where it's at. I went through my Honda phase with a t61 boosted civic. There was a very brief stint as a DSM guy with a 2nd gen Talon with a 16g, and then my Nissan stage. A nice little 240 with a red top and a sc61 and a Silvia front end. Now I'm all growed up and found myself sporting a nice little fd, which is where I plan to stay for a while, or until the inevitable 911 stage ( about 45 lol ). So let's hear it guys, is the fd what got you started or just another feather in your cap?

I started with a few FC's first, I'm glad I did, I learned very fast, and thanks to this forum and a few others I can say I have completely avoided being a ricer.

Kinda the same. Fixed up a lot of different cars, also went through a Honda phase, Integra, CRX, Accord, Civic. Had a few Mustangs. When I bought the 7, 7 years ago, I also had a 99 Si, but two car payments and two insurance payments made me choose which one would be sold and the RX7 won. This is the second longest car I have owned and probably the most I have ever invested in a car...lots of time and lots O money.

This is the most expensive feather in my cap. I had 4 modded MX-3s before this, and I think all 4 of those cars' mods combined dont equal the amount of money in just this one FD.

my first sports car was an early 90's celica. the only thing I ever modded on it was a new shift **** and shift boot. 3 months later I sold that and picked up a very clean 92 FD for $5500 (I was in stationed in Okinawa, Japan) and it was all over from there. that was 7 years ago. Im on my 3rd FD currently and I have close to $26k invested into it.

The FD was my first car/ first car modified. Learned some tough lessons along the way, like the car needs a couple of hours to cool down before working in the bay. It has been quite an expensive journey. Looking to move into a viper gts, 996 x50 or Bentley GT (depending if they keep depreciating like they are now). Will see how my investment banking career pans out.

I started back in the day with a Porsche 914. I did a good job of kicking off my obsession with cars that corner well.

I've tinkered on 2 EG civics before I got the FD.
The first one was really riced out, big wing, neon, bright crap everywhere.
The second had really nice suspension (DC2 5-lug), I found an afordable FD before I got to swapping the engine.

Like purerx7 this is my first car. If I had known how obsessed I would be with it I would have thought twice about buying it in the first place. Unlike him though, even if I had a billion dollars I would still obsess over this car. The only other car I like almost as much as this one is a miura.

I've been modding and tracking cars since 1987. Rotary specific, I've personally owned 4 modified FC TII, 2 FD and partially owned a FB with a big ported motor and Holley carb. There have been other non-rotaries in the stable as well.

My old R1 was the first car that was mine that I started to mod. Worked on my friend's Prelude and Civics prior to that back in the 90's. When I got my R1, was definitely a learning experience and after doing it, I know I can do it again for A LOT cheaper.

Started with Hondas back in highshcool. I've owned an 88 hatch, 88 CRX Si (which never lost a race) , 88 CRX HF, 90 CRX Dx. While I have moved on from Hondas, I still fully agree that these cars and engines are your best bang for the buck.

While wrenching Hondas, I also had my trucks on the side. I had 3 Datsun pick-ups. '75, '76, '80. All with L20B motors.

As I was finishing up with college, I finally bought my love. I've known owned the 7 for almost 5 years and never plan on selling it.

Since the 7 was my weekend car, I bought my 05 Kawasaki 636 streetbike, and also my '94 Toyota pickup which is lifted with '33s that I use for the beach or off roading.

I started with a 1986 toyota corolla 1.6 in 1997 and got heavy into modifying cars the right way when i got my first 1989 turbo II in 1999. As far as really modifying a car with the much emphasis was my FD now-got it in 2008. I refuse to do a half *** job on it plus there is so much more with the FD than just bolt ons.
