Well in 93 and some early 94's it's glass which is highly prized. If you don't have the glass roof I'm not sure why want a goofy looking CF copy. Hood maybe, wing ok, sunroof... retarded.

Since you would settle for a skin then im guessing your goal is simply for looks. In that case i suggest just going with the glass roof, itll look 10 times better than a black/grey spot in the middle of another color roof.

The glass roof only came on 94's if you find one on any other year it came off of a 94.

1994 Mazda RX-7: Improvements this year included a new "one-touch" feature for the driver's window, plus map pockets. Dual airbags were installed, and a softer suspension setting aimed to reduce ride harshness over bumps--especially in the base and Touring editions. Dashboards were revised slightly. A new option group put popular features into a single package. Three major option groups were offered: Luxury-oriented Touring (now with a power steel sunroof rather than glass); Performance (now called R-2); and Popular Equipment (sunroof, leather, and a rear cargo cover).
1995 Mazda RX-7: Not many changes were evident for 1995, as the RX-7 began to fade out of Mazda's lineup, a victim of sluggish sales. The car's standard air conditioning unit switches to CFC-free refrigerant. The Touring Package was dropped, but leather seats, a cargo cover, and a power steel sunroof remained available in the optional Popular Equipment Group. Red leather upholstery no longer was offered. An R-2 performance package also remained available, featuring a firmer suspension, dual oil coolers, rear spoiler, front air dam, and Z-rated tires.
Only early touring/PEP 94' like mine which was actually made 9/1993 have them. Prior to that only 93 touring models had glass power sunroof. Later 94' had steel sunroof. Other than the roof I have found nothing else on my car that is 93' spec.

BTW: the people at Consumer Guide are idiots. Most of the information you find on sites like that are incorrect.

I've been trying to get one made for a while with no luck. I don't see how it's "ricey" if you paint it. Carbon fiber sunshades and mirror triangles are ricey.
The reality is, the factory skin is remarkably heavy, so there would be an opportunity to save 10-12 lbs. right off the highest point on the car, and offset some of the mechanism weight for those who like a sunroof (I know I do).
I wish one of the myriad CF vendors on this forum would step up to the plate.
