Angry FD was in a accident today...

So.. OMG just got home from getting the car towed here. Cont believe what just happened. Some people should have their licenses revoked, and 10 lashes. So heres the low down.

Im driving down a 4 lane one way. Im in the 2nd furthest left lane. i am about to turn left. My lane is a straight through, or turn left lane. Now the lane to my left is a turn only left lane. So i proceed to turn left, and out of no where i turn into a speeding 70 km/h car going straight in the turn only lane. I couldn't believe it! She was speeding straight, in a left only turn lane! On the other side of the intersection, her lane ends, and a sidewalk starts. So if i didn't hit her, she would have went straight into a sidewalk and into a light pole. But me hitting her threw her car sideways missing the sidewalk, then sideways again and into the curb. The FD took it nice, no skid or anything. Good ol' R1 suspension.

But the damages, definately the front left fender needs replacing, possibly the bumper, and something is up with the steering rack. my left wheel is just hanging there, if i turn the steering wheel to the left the wheel wont budge and stays pointed into the car (to the right) After the towing truck got there i took some pics, i can see the steering arm is snapped off.

I wont have to pay a cent, the driver that hit me said it was her fault, plus the driver of the car behind me stopped and said it was her fault. So i am in the clear. But damn my head smacked the window, i have a crazy headache and whiplash i think, my neck hurting more and more as time goes on. But all is well, and i am glad no one got hurt seriously. Pray for my baby!

Looks like a fender and a bumper as well as an inner/outer tie rod. I would be crying inside as well but it isn't THAT bad.

You might want to take a trip to the doctor and make sure you didn't mess up anything in your neck. Sorry about you car.

those cars are real tanks. Not much damage considering the speed. Glad to see that you are ok.

"Dude...if you die can I have your Megadeth collection?.."

Ughhhhhh I hate to see a peice of work like that destroyed by stupidity. The same thing happened to one of the FC guys not too long ago. Female driving an SUV sideswiped him because she says she didnt SEE the car...

Anywho, yeah get to the Rx and see what's what and we pray for a safe return for you and the 7!

Go to the hospital! If you've suffered any injuries, no matter how minor, it is extremely important that you have documentation in case you seek legal recourse later. That, and I'm sure none of us want to hear a sad story about you randomly going into convulsions and dying although you appeared to be healthy.

Lots of replies to see a doctor.

Now here's one telling you to see an attorney.

If you leave it up to the insurance company, you will not get treated fairly, especially if you have been injured.

And be sure to call your own insurance company to report the accident, and let them deal with the other insurance company.

The laws may be somewhat different in Canada, but bean counters are the same everywhere - greedy.

i knowwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the comments guys, im going to go see a doc today before i bring all the documentation to my insurance company. Just so i can put the Doc's report in there with it.

Im not going to be a easy guy to deal with, like i KNOW when i get a new bumper and a new fender, the paint is not going to match. Brand new clear coat compared to 16 year old paint, your going to notice that. Illl play it by ear, but chances are ill get the entire car painted.

So im going to bring the car to my local RX7 shop to get the mechanical fixed, then i need to find a god body shop. i know not to bring these cars to Dealers, but they should be good at body work no?

But thanks again for the comments guys, really appreciate it, and hopefully Misty will be back on the road again soon. Ill update ya guys as things progress.

This should be interesting to see how this one plays out, hopefully the insurance company doesnt kick up a stink cause your car is RHD. they wont have a leg to stand on, but u know how they operate.

I think u will have a hard time getting the whole car painted aswell.
hope you make a speedy recovery. come by and drink some beers this weekend to help kill the pain

Dealers don't do body work, they take to to a shop that they work with to do body work.

You would be surprised how well it can match. If you find someone who is really skilled and blends it, it can be right again. I had half a gold honda prelude painted once and I really couldn't tell at all (it was >12 years old).

Yea spend the money and get a good painter that can blend it. When I bought my MazdaSpeed kit it didn't match the factory paint, but my shop did a great job at matching what was already on the car.

good stuff we'll see what pans out. I got a rental yesterday paid with her insurance, so that was quick and painless, so im really happy about that.

yea i may not get the entire car painted, i just know a guy who had a civic, and when he got into a accident you could notice the new paint vs the old paint, and they painted the entire car. Which ever way it works out i just want my car back.

its been my experience that ANY dealings with insurance companies before a wreck or accident is easy and painless.......... after a wreck that almost reverses. GL on the fight.

Don't sign anything. Go to the doctor so it's on record. Probably a concussion. Then see what the ins. co. offers you. Tell them no way whatever the offer. Tell them you getting a lawyer. Turn down the next offer. Get a lawyer and have them pay now and in the future. Neck injuries never go away. They can get better and you'll feel no pain but sooner or later it will return. It will never be the same. Trust me. You can then buy a new RX7 and a Honda for a DD

Sounds good on paper, but i bet i do have a concussion, im on Tylenol 3 right now. The doc said see how it is in a few days. And a attorney and a lawyer is going to cost more then what i would possibly settle with, so i dont know about that. But i will see how my head is in a few days and go from there.

Just as long as your ok! That's whats most important! Your baby is fixable! I'm really sorry man! That's the truth out here though! A lot of the drivers don't deserve to have a license.

You in Edmonton area or Calgary area?
