Last time I checked with Steve Kan he goes to your town and needs a minimum of 5 paid customers and he charges $350 to tune your car. He likes to do street tuning because it's quicker and in a real world environment. Dynos can have heat soak like my dyno runs where air intake temps reached 67C. He will do dyno tuning, but the dyno time costs extra.

I want dyno tuning because I want to see the results and don't like illegal street speeds of over 100mph.

Thanx,

Ken

What was his methodology for tuning the cruise areas? I find it easy to tune WOT, but the vacuum areas are tricky since there's so many ways of moving through those cells...

I suppose you could ask Steve Kan. He might give away some of his expertise on the Forum. Then again you can always find someone to get a map of his.

That's why I paid the BIG BUCKS to have it tuned correctly. I don't want to blow up anymore motors. The surprise benefit was getting good MPG while cruising.

Prevous owner the best he said he got was 18-19mpg.

Thanx,

Ken

Didn't realize how he went about his tuning would be a big secret. I prefer doing my own tuning since I have all the tools and plus something is always changing that causes me to need to tweak the maps all over. Was just curious how the pros would approach the cruise areas. I'm impressed he could cover your whole map for $350. My last trip to the dyno took two hours and that was just to get all my boost areas spot-on.
