fc 1000 ignition upgrad ?'s
so i just got my new ignition from jegs today. i bought the jacobs fc1000. i tried to order it from rotary performance (rx7.com) but they were sold out. anyway, i started to read the instructions and found out it is recommended to upgrade the coil also. so i started my coil search on rx7.com and read about there fc 1000 and they added rotary in the name of the ignition. so my question is, is there any difference in this system?
here are the two systems
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=19903
http://rx7.com/store/rx7/fdignition.html

I'm almost positive its the same model.....the FC1000 is made by Jacobs which use to have a jacob's rotary pak. They might have just said that from a selling point of view.
For upgraded coil, go with a turbo ll coil, thats what im gonna use when i install my FC1000. Do a search for it, they are very strong, and cheap. The search will also give you wiring to hook it up. b/c you dont use the ignitor, just the coil. If you need a T2 coil let me know, i have like 10 of them.
hope this helps....

i don't know anything about the internals, but the fc1000 is a different box than the rotary pack. i've seen 3 dead rotary packs, and not one dead fc1000...but i don't know if that means anything.
install: http://www.rotaryheads.com/modifications/FC1000/
same exact thing for an fd, just different wire colors and coil placement. an fc leading coil would do it some good. their ignition is a bit more solid than the fd's.

I have been running an n/a fc coil for years with both the jacobs rotary pak and the fc1000 with no problems, so they will work as good as a TII coil. But, my coil is pretty high mileage......hmmm......
