It's always very difficult to see something like this happen to such a young person. Best wishes for his friends and family.

 

I didn't know him either but it is a tragedy. My sympathies go to his family and friends.

 

I am a new driver and own a FD. After reading all of this i have willed myself not to be a dumbass and kill myself showing off, or not wearing my seatbelt, ect. It was said that the FD gives you a false sence of security. How true that is. I'd like to extend my sympathies to the family and friends. I really learned how to drive the car right also, and i recomend any other young drivers to take a corse, or learn driving techniques with your car on a track. Experence may very well help us young drivers out everyday. It has helped me so much. Once again...be safe y'all

This is true, i never feel like im going as fast as i really am in the FD. Another thing you should consider doing is finding a club and do some autocrossing. Like I said above, it saved my life.

 

I was in a really bad accident when I was 18 where I t-boned a lady and if I had hit my brakes a milisecond later I would have hit her right where she was sitting and killed her. I wont go into details because i'm still in the middle of the lawsuit but I will say that the witnesses told the police I was racing. My point is that everyone should be carefull out there, the streets are not for ******* around. If your going to goof off save it for the track and for god sake wear your seat belt. I pray I never have to read another thread like this one. Peace

this sucks man . I never knew the guy but am reallty sad to know someone so young died. i'm gonna be 24 soon and i take life for granted. but after reading i'm gonna be more carefull from now on. this really sucks and i'm really sad.

 

death is never easy whether you know the person or not... God bless him , his family, and all of you. Sometimes it has nothing to do w/ driving abilities but just that your time is up... but that is never an excuse to be reckless so please enjoy in moderation (which pertains to all aspects of life).

 

oh man I cannot express in the words that I am typing how badly I feel right now. Him and his family/friends will be in my mind when I pray tonight. I was out a couple hours earlier tonight tearing up some twisties and after reading this I am just at a loss of words. Reading this makes me really stop and look at my actions with the FD. I had a camry when I was 18....I almost killed myself with that car...I couldn't image what I've would've done with an FD at that age either....

Jesse...didn't know you...but I know you are at a better place...we'll miss you...your family is in our prayers...Rest In Peace...young one...May we never forget!

 

Nothing is so tragic as parents having to bury their children.. Reading the original thread made me tear up pretty bad as it seemed that the posts were being made in realtime.. Its always hard when that initial realization occurs..

Jesse, I didn't know you, but you'll be missed.. We have not only lost a fellow enthusiast, but someone who was at the begining of life.. I just hope at least one of us can learn from this so that you didn't die in vain..

I'm 17 and have lost a friend last year in a car crash who was 18, I cannot imagine my life ending right now, there is still so much more life has to offer. If some of you knew him/are close to Ontario.

I know I am making the trip there.

And yes, 2 lossed in 3 days is too much, every loss in too much, so guys, be careful. The only reason for posting such horrible stories in hoping that it will make people think BEFORE it's too late.......

I spend most of my time on the MR2 board, where we've had an abhorant number of wrecked cars lately, including multiple rollovers and flips, but fortunately no severe injuries or fatalities. We just heard about the two deaths in FDs recently... and wow, this is too much.

I hope this opens the eyes of enough people to prevent many accidents to come. Be safe, dont drive aggressively where there is a high risk of wrecking. Use your head.

I know there are a lot of young (under 20) FD drivers on this board, and I really HOPE that all of you are learning a lesson from the tragedies that are surrounding the RX-7 community lately. You have at your command one of the most powerful, most manuverable, most outrageous cars to ever be produced by a big automaker (not including the exotics, of course), and it WILL kill you if you don't treat it and the road with respect.

Watch yourselves out there, guys. I'd love to never see a thread starting with "Fatal" on this board EVER again.
