I recently bought a 1992 rx7 efini twin turbo.. and Iv yet to find how much horsepower these cars came with stock!!
Every webpage Iv looked at including ebay says either 255hp or 200hp

86-88 NA = 146 HP @ 6500 RPM w/ 138 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
86-88 Turbo = 182 @ 6500 RPM w/ 183 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
89-91 NA = 160 HP @ 7000 RPM w/ 140 Ft/lb @ 4000 RPM
89-91 Turbo = 200-202 @ 6500 RPM w/ 196 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM
Infini IV = 215 @ 6500 RPM w/ 206 Ft/lb @ 3500 RPM:

did you buy a 1992 Efini or a 1992 Infini?

1992 Infini are second generation, 215hp
1992 Efini are third generation, 255hp.

They look completetly different. One has corners, the other is rounded. Does your car have a hoodscoop?

hoodscoop = second gen
no hoodscoop = third gen

The twin turbo 3rd Gens came with 255 I believe (at least the 93-95 did).

 

92-95 came with 255hp. They were all twin turbo, and I think this guy has a 92 FD not a 92 FC.

 

My car is efini forsure.. so its like a japanese third generaton version when the 2nd gen was still in effect here??

 

ya i think your right.to be completely honest i was totally oblivious to the fact that '92 were also fd.I did not know that>so thanks for clearing that up

 

In Japan they had both third and second gens at the same time.

the fd or the 3rd generation was rated as having 255hp at the flywheel.............that translates to approximately 220 at the rear wheels.

255 is you are boosting right. do u have a boost gauge? if not get one ASAP! you should be boosting 10-8-10
