exhaust system question

I am looking to buy a cat back system:
I want something with a mellow sound, not to loud, and I do not want a huge exhaust tip, so i have been looking at the m2 kit, the racing beat system, and I found a good deal through the RX-7 store on an HKS Hiper cat back.

Give me some feed back please,
thanks

I have heard the HKS and the RB (I own the RB). They sound pretty similar. The RB has better construction quality and looks but costs more. I would recommend the RB to anyone that doesn't want a deafening exhaust.

I have not heard the M2 but by all accounts, it's similar to the RB but a hair louder.

I want the same things lovemyseven, and I'm going with the RB dual tip when my car gets its new engine. (goes in one month from today!!) It's all that you described; mellow but sporty, not loud, and just about stock size dual tips.

great feedback guys, much appreciated. Why the RB dual tip, and not the single tip?

Look up "mellow" in the dictionary and there's a picture of a RB SS Dual Tip..."also see burble"! I highly recommend it if that's what you're looking for.

so the single tip has a different sound, not just a different look?

I don't know anything about the dual tip, but I helped a friend install the single tip model, and I thought it was rather heavy for an aftermarket exhaust. I also thought it was unnecessary how it was a 2-piece design (there's another flange right behind the canister).
It was late and I was tired, so it could be just me

Yep, it's heavy compared to the cannister style exhausts (or PFS's exhaust). I don't really care. It's still lighter than stock. I guess it depends on your priorities. I'll give up a few pounds for better sounds and classier looks.

Go with the Odula version S exhaust. I have no clue what it sounds like. But It can't look that bad once it's on the car.
