Exhaust Sound with Midpipe
hey...Ive searched on this forum and I couldnt find anything really dealing with a good sounding exhaust WITH a midpipe
To give you a example of the sound I like, Im not a fan of AMAZINGLY loud, but not a fan of quiet either. Something that sounds really good and leaning toward the louder side, but not ear piercing. I love the sound of the Apexi N1, but have only heard it without the midpipe. People have said the N1 sounds like **** when it has a midpipe, so it got me thinking again. I also looked at the HKS Drager II, but also found out that its a pretty bad system for reliability and performance. If im wrong please correct me on any of this info. Does anyone know a good reliable and well-performing exhaust that sounds real good WITH a midpipe?? If so do you have any sound files or info sites??thanks for responding and sorry if its a repost, I just couldnt find what I was looking for.

Anything with a straight MP is gonna be loud.
I have the N1 single tip and it was grossly loud with the MP and full exhaust. Hi Res MP was nice but Im starting to lose brain cells when I let it warm up for a while and the fumes kick find their way into the cabin.

i have a midpipe with the n1, and it is ungodly....
108 db at idle, hurts my head on the highway. but when i get into it the sound makes it all worth while. 8000 rpms through a tunnel is so fun and the car sounds like its going to kill people.
thank god for silencers

if you guys want loud, just get an external wastegate and dump it into the atmosphere on top of a full straight through exhaust. Then take it to a tunnel and mash on that peddle. be carefull you may not be able to hear the sirens of the cops chasing you.
^haha
Can't wait to open her up next week after tuning under the bridge getting on the interstate in second gear.
But I have the dp, mp, and Peter Farrell catback. It is really loud, but not as loud as Greddy PE or Apex'i N1. I also here the N1 with a midpipe has a ricey sound. The Peter Farrell sounds great. I just installed my single w/ wastegate dump, so it is a little louder all around now. Haven't opened it up yet though to open that W/G.

I have a greddy PE and it is really quiet with the stock cat. I have heard that it is one of the quieter exhausts even with a midpipe. Personally I think the N1 sounds like *** with or without a midpipe.
I had Streetport with Downpipe, Midpipe, and a Greddy SP catback and it was enough to let everyone know a thing a two but not too ungodly loud. It had a great "gargling-rumble-grunt" to it, and when that 2nd turbo came on...it was like a massager on a table inside of the cockpit. Sorry for the bad explanation, but it's close to what I can think of

anyone have any sound clips? Im in between the SP, and the N1 dual so far. Thanks for all the input guys
I had a DP, MP and HKS turbo Cat-back exhaust. It sounded fine. Unles I was really getting on it, i didnt even notice it after i had installed the midpipe.
Most of that is because the HKS Turbo Cat-back is so quiet to start.
