Exhaust Question

I am currently fixing up my beater FD, and had a quick exhaust question. Currently it has the 3" HKS downpipe, and the HKS Hi Power exhaust. The catalytic converter is pretty banged up, and wanted to get your opinion on getting this item for it:

My question was if you guys think this would be the best choice, or I should just get another stock cat. I hear the stock one is pretty weak, and am looking to beef up this car a little. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

If you have to ask this question, then you are not ready to run a midpipe. Get a new hi-flow cat or buy a used stock cat from someone.

I'm running the Bonez DP and HF Cat with a RB Dual tip. I like the performance and teh sound. Unfortunatelly I've heard this Cat Does not burn the HC's as well as stock or other HF Cats. I'm in te process of passing Emissions and I just failled the 25 MPH test due to HC's, but my problem is related to the airpump not pushing enough volume as the O2 was only 0.2%.

I heard Tripoint has a descent Cat at a comparable price to Bonez, but I don't know how well it does with Emissions.

dlarson101, if you have the PFC, that is why you failed. The PFC turns off the air pump at lower rpm than the stock ecu and will turn it off in 2nd gear for the 25 mph test. Run the 25 mph test in 3rd gear and you will pass.

Actually I haven't installed the PFC yet... I'm waiting for every thing to be working proper first. My problem is down to the air pump (99% sure).

When I do install the PFC, si the 3rd gear trick the only thing needed with the base map?
