EXHAUST LEAK - coincidence? i think not

So when i had my clutch fork replaced, the guys at the shop literally hung on my downpipe to move it out of the way to get the transmission back into the car...i said thats probably not a good idea, but they did it anyhow "it'll be fine" response.

So now i have an exhaust leak right at the turbo, what should i DO?!?

how much damage could hanging a 150 lbs person from the DP do?

how far should i go? fix the leak or replace the turbo cause who knows what else is messed up...????

The turbo should be OK.

Sounds to me like they either squashed the gasket or stretched one of the studs (less likely, unless they were not the hardened type).

I would start by just re-tightening the DP to turbo nuts. Before you do that, lube them liberally with a good penetrating oil and let them sit for a day or so before attempting to turn them. If re-tightening them doesn't work, you may need to install a new gasket.

^ Agreed...start off trying to fix it with simple things first. No need to jump right into a whole bunch of work and cost that may not even be necessary (replacing turbo's etc...)

BTW, which shop was this?

Shop Monkeys! I've had similar things happen, on my old Celica they lifted the car with a jack, what they thought was the brace under the car was actually the down pipe. Idiots dented the hell out of it and caused a leak at the manifold. On my FD RX-7 the gasket at the turbos to downpipe was leaking and I tried to tighten the bolts and it didn't work. So I had to replace the gasket, now its fine. I might have left it that extra day too long but, it was hardly leaking mostly smelt it, if your leak is bad enough to hear it, you will probably need to replace the gasket. Good luck, pain in the **** bolts !!!

Once the gasket is deformed, hot gasses leak out through it destroying it further. As others have said, it sounds like you'll have to replace the gasket. That's where I'd start.
