Universal is Ricey
The GT wing was "hot" on the FD but now you can even see it on an Accord. Why in the world would a lowered Honda sedan (stock engine and wheels) need a GT wing?
The HKS with the flamed tip seemed hot, but now it's being copied and you will see it on a Hundai's, Ford Festivas and maybe even Yugo's
Apex'i now has universal anodized colored N1's. SO basically my point is: If it's not made for Honda that it's O'-Tay
So nobody has heard the JIC nor Kakimoto?

also how much will performance be sacrificed if I stick with a stock main cat as opposed to a perfermance cat
since quietness is of my main concern which performance main cat is the most muffled
thanks is advance!

APEXi GT Spec Exhaust
HKS Hiper Carbon Fiber Exhaust
Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust
got any vids, sounds, etc...
i seem to like the GT Spec cause it comes with the silencer which i guess helps keeping a low profile

Hmmm...
I hear no talk of Tanabe Racing medalion... It's a really nice exhaust system that let's you hear the sound of a rotary that is like no other. This guy JR here in Dallas has a '95 FD w/ Tanabe and it's quite sweat sounding, now I believe he's becoming good friends w/ the folks at Rotary Performance. I had a video of him running a 10.98 I belive...
Ryker, "wonder1and" (i think) on the boards, is running an A'PEXi N1 dual. It's not like dual like two coffee cans it's more like an OEM looking exhasut, but when he lets it rip at wide open throttle...wow!!! I raced him once w/ my windows down, I didn't even watch to shift into second or third I wanted to roll my passener side windw up... The nicest sounding system I've hear, plus it flows 35% more than just the normal N1. I'm looking at teh black anodized N1 though. I kinda want my car just to be a black thing going down the road...
TANABE or A'PEXi N1 dual!!!

So, the old Pettit single(turbo tuff) is the same as a RB single?(Is it a good flow'er)
I have N1 duals. Sounds good w/ DP and HF cat. But I will see w/ resonated MP.
Also, anyone check out www.Powertone.com. This has peaked my interest if I can decide which would be best for DP/Mp.

I have the Apex GT spec exhaust (not installed yet)
the previous owner took it off to put the car back to stock...he said when I put it back on the car will fly, and the noise isn't nearly as bad as N1 Dual (very very noisy)
it's a good deal if you're looking for a cheap alternative to the HKS Titinamium 3.74 exhaust...just a bit heavier prbly
Also, the bottom of the muffler is all scraped up from hitting the ground (car was lowered less than 5" off the ground by first owner)

does anyone have any idea what muffler pettit/racingbeat/M2 use for their exhaust? Wouldn't be a bad idea to custom one using that muffler.
I like the look of the cansisters, but dont' think i could deal with it being that loud especailly with a midpipe in.
sidenote..can u still blow flames with the duels? like RB/m2

BigRed has the Universal on his car and it sounds gooood.
I have heard many CB systems and this one takes the trophy. It sounds like a power boat exhaust due to it's design.
The Pahtom muffler looks like a catalytic con. So it's perfect for those "evil" officers that have that mirror to inspect the car. I plan on having my MP cut to retrofit this "pre-muffler, on and then install the Tips, which act as mufflers themselves.
One thing nice about the Phantom muffler is that it's light and small and has an aerodynamic shape.
I'll post pics and more detials later - maybe with an WAV file.

Steve.
I currently have a custom powertone set-up on my FD. I opted for not using any of their mufflers for the time being and instead just put on a pair of their glass-packed muffler tips. I took the tips (universal type, it accepts 2.25" piping) to a local muffler shop and had them build a 3" SS piping from the cat up to the opening where the muffler was. from there they used a mandrel bend and then split the 3" piping into 2 2.25" pipes to weld the muffler tips to (dual 2.25" has approx the same flow as 1 3" pipe).
Out of all the exausts I've heard, the tone that these put out sounds amazing. It has a very "wet" idle. Like a onboard motor on a boat. It is alot louder than your quieter exausts out there. It is quieter than the Apexi N1 singles and duals, and has a more acceptable deeper tone. There is also some droning, but as with any exaust, you get used to it. also WOT is something that makes you smile every time.
It's a great choice. and the cost for implementation is lower than that of most of your traditional catbacks. Because they don't polish or sand the welds, but the looks of my CB aren't why I went this way.
I am right across the bay in foster city. shoot me a PM or an e-mail and we can plan on getting together if you want to check it out.

Ok, I put my Pettit(turbo tuff)single tip CB back on for the time being. The N1 duals were too loud w/ MP. But the Pettit is sooo quiet even w/ MP. I think I need more noise and the look from behind is sad. The single outlet is not even as big as one of the outlets on the duals. It looks funny. I want my dual exhaust back.
Quick question, Is my exhaust like backed up bad? I have my 3" MP going into a 2.5" CB and then thru this huge muffler and out this little 3" end. I can pretty much conclude this because of my quiet exhaust w/MP. Oh, I need to do something quick.
Also, I have my N1 duals for sale and pretty soon a nice quiet Pettit(old school)single tip CB.

Ya, BigREd, I am probably going dual universal powertone, but w/ muffler like Batman. There, I guess I have went and decided.
