First take off the inspection cover on the bottom of the bell houseing (2 bolts-10mmhead) rotate flywheel to find the 14mm clutch cover bolts remove the 6 bolts and the clutch will stay in the bellhouseing when you pull a way the trans , the ring that holds the release bearing can be fliped off ,do not bend, it cost $35 I think

The fd uses a pull type clutch, when you step on the pedal the clutch is actually pulled and not pushed. The ring can be seperated from the release bearing, i forget if you pry the fork forward or backward. just play with it. I would recommend you replace the clutch since its easy to do it now.

You want to replace the wdge collar and the wire ring also. If you buy a new ACT clutch they come with them. I have a brand new wire ring and wedge collar still in the wrapping I can sell you if you need them.
