Exhaust. ??

I am having a really hard time deciding on which exhaust to get. Either HKS or even Greddy. I like both. If anyone has a vid of them without any other extra mods, to help me make up my mind. That would be great.

Neither, both companies suck dick. Just do a custom exhaust from a local shop, cost you around $200 versus $1400 Greddy or HKS want

they might be expensive but i dont think the companies have homosexual agendas. i'd go with the hks just for the rarity of the parts

Look on the website rx7boutique.com they have sound clips of various exhausts, even rare ones and they can source them as well.

RB dual tip IMO. I did have an hks carbon titanium once and I did like it as well, but I think the RB dual tip does the sound of the rotary more justice :-)

Wow.

First off, Mr. Muffler or whatever down the street will be more than happy to make you a welded-on crush-bent pile of **** for $200. That's fine for your mom's Buick, not for an FD.

$1400 is how much an exotic titanium cat-back would run you BRAND NEW.

Both HKS and Greddy make quality cat-backs. You can easily get a good used cat-back for around $300-400 that will bolt right on, fit good, and perform great.

The big question to ask is what style do you like, and how loud do you want it? ALso, if you still have the main cat and sequential twins, pretty much EVERY cat-back will be relatively quiet, it's not until you get a midpipe that things get loud.

The Borla race mufflers have been used quite a bit as a mid pipe since they flow so well and help quiet the exhaust, but they sound pretty good as just a muffler on their own.

Here's an old video I scooped up. From what I remember, it only had the Borla XR-1 installed.

What are your goals with the exhausts? SS or ti? Loud or quiet? Also Greddy & HKS both make a few exhausts for the FD, which one were you looking at?

IMO, the greddy race mufflers like the Ti sound to tinny, I do like the sound of the PE though. Never liked any of the HKS mufflers.

I would go with the RB duals. Keeps the appearance of stock (somewhat) and elt you hear that beautiful rotory wind up. Hks hi-power is a great bargain though.

my brother had a borla custom exhaust, 3inch dp going to a 4inch mp and 4 inch borla which was pretty much straight out. One of the loudest cars I ever came across but it was awesome! I have a 3 inch dp to 3inch mp to 3 inch greddy exhuast and I like mines, low growl but mines is some what old. not sure exactly which model it is but i like it.
