Everytime I step on the brake...

My radio and odometer reading conks out for a few seconds then back on. And sometimes I'm getting alot of engine noise through my speakers. Am I having a grounding problem? The radio and odo turning off is intermittent. Sometimes I can brake fine, sometimes I'll brake and all hell breaks loose. Where should I start looking? TIA!

pull the guage cluster and make sure that everything is plugged in tight. other than that it's probly a ground.

Check your battery, alternator, fuses, dead shorts to the brake switch or illumination circuit, check for all wire problems in all areas...did you recently change something? I'd start w/ alternator and fuses though.

if it was the fuse, shouldnt it have just turn off, and not back on? I havn't done anything... I was thinking maybe water getting into the antenna? I recently replaced the mass...

I bought the car with the antenna snapped off so there was a hole basically goin into the car..

Either 2 problems, #1 Your alternator is bad, OR #2 you have a bad ground, end of story.

I had the same exact problem that your experiencing. It drove me nuts for months.

It was bad grounding. Just make some grounding straps from home depot for $10. That should take care of it.
