If you still have pop ups I bet they are cracking from old age....You can check by raising your hood and peering at the rear with a flashlight where the two bolts hold the cover on. It is very easy to disassemble the covers and apply an apoxy or adhesive to reinforce the cracking area. I was told this is a common problem as the plastic gets old and brittle with age/heat and begins to wear. Mine almost totally seperated when I was taking them off. Lucky i didnt lose one while driving! Save yourself from it flying off and having to spend a bunch on a new one from maduh and also on repainting...Its an easy to do yourself!! Checked mine out and not a sign of aging. But thats OK anyway cause I'm gonna switch them out for the integrated headlights from C-West or Amemiya

I changed bulbs recently and found one already cracked. Some slight sanding and JB Weld did the trick.

One of mine has completely broken off, is there a glue that will hold to stick the support pieces back on or am I wasting my time and get new ones??

One of mine broke off and I used hot glue to put it back on. That was a year ago and it's still holding strong.

I fixed one that broke at the main joint and it held for several months before I replaced it.

1. I applied some glue to the broken joint and reseated the parts on the car to retain the proper position.

2. I cut some thin aluminum flashing and formed/bent it over the glued joint. I kinda bent it like this: _/\_.

3. The metal should be as close to the plastic as possible. I slathered epoxy around it and let it cure.

4. Reinstall it but you still must be careful.

BTW: I 've had them snap and blow right off. They cost $75 and it is another $75 to paint by code.

I have found that just about any heavy-duty bondo/glue will work. JB weld is probably the most common. I used an industrial stregth plastic bondo taht was laying around my friends garage and it did the trick. Just make sure you let the piece dry. One of my covers completely broke and is still holding together fine after repair! Just use the compound you chose liberally....G

Thats likely ok, but if it is broken I'd still reinforce it as I descrbed above. It is cheap to do and takes less than 10 minutes...not including drying time.
