Ethanol in Gas><

So last week I filled my tank up with 93 octane Shell Gasoline, I go to shell because I heard its some of the best gas. However I noticed that they have a 10percent or less ethanol sticker, I thought it would be ok!

I start driving, turbo's sputtering, VERY low power, and it was quite painful to drive. I was thinking I have a blown engine, but decided to see if it was a bad tank of gas and let it burn through. APPARENTLY it was a bad tank of gas, I filled up at texaco, and my car runs perfectly. Could this ethanol on non-ethanol equipped cars screw them up? All I know is that I'm not going to fill up with gas that has ethanol in it!
