Enigine flush before oil change?

I am going to do an oil change right away and I was wondering if I can run engine flush or will this damage the motor? I was also told to run 10W 30 or 10w 40. Let me know guys, thanks

Just change the oil. Since you live in a cooler climate, I would use the lighter weight oil.

If you do put in flush do not drive the car with the flush in the mix.Just let it idle and then put in cheep oil and run it for a trip up the road then change the oil using good stuff .That will get the kerosine out of the oil cooler and lines as will as possible .

Ok, newb question here:

How often should one run an engine flush, and what exactly does it do? Is it worth doing, or will changing out your oil and other fluids regularly suffice?

I personally dont' think engine flushes are a good idea, and I don't think they are popular among FD owners. There are much more important things to worry about on this car.

If you are really set on flushing your engine... I would:

1. Warm up car.
2. Drain dirty oil and change filter.
3. fill up engine with a cheaper oil that has lots of detergents (search the internets).
4. drive car around for 15 minutes or so.
5. Drain cheap oil.
6. Fill engine back up with a good oil.

Just do a regular oil change with the good oil you usually use.

If you feel the need to "flush" the engine, change your oil more often.

I have never seen sludge in a rotary, they run hot enough usually to prevent sludge formation.

Engine flushes are used to dissolve crankcase sludge, unnecessary to do with a rotary.

Most of the engine flush bottles I have read say "Not recommended for Turbo Engines."
