Engine seems to bind as you torque the front bolt

When attempting to install the engine, it was the first time to notice the flywheel didn't turn. When you loosen the front bolt, the flywheel and main shaft would rotate.

So, I figured a needle bearing was pinched. I doubt the spacer is off since I'm re-using it. After tear down, I found an extra needle bearing in between a thrust washer and stationary gear. I don't know what I was thinking when I assembled the front stationary gear backplate, washer, and bearing. I must've smoked something good that night.

Anyhow, it's the cause of the binding.

I found another thrust washer in one of my milk crates of parts. You can see it near the needle bearing, which is slightly mashed up.

Milk Crates are not engine stands

My "temporary stand" comes equipped with safety warnings.

No, 3 needle bearings. Somehow, there was a needle bearing behind the first thrust washer. When I assembled the front stationary gear together, I wasn't paying attention because I was in some conversation with a friend.
