I got mine done for around 3000 by east coast performance out of jacksonville NC . Wich is a good price, but it took like a year for them to get it done.

Get a new Mazda reman (about $2800) then have it torn apart and rebuilt professionally by Mr rx7 tt, who will put the most awesome port job on it you can imagine. Talk to him about pricing.
All told, I have $6500 in my rebuild. So be prepared.

i also had my motor build by Chris Rogers (Mr rx7 tt) he did an amazing job with the rebuild!!! i could have not found a more honest profession person. i lost all track of expense in the build since i've been doing mods with a little "this and that" along the way. if your moneys tight, and i mean tight as if you count your money and have a budget i would just go with a reman from malloy.

But let him know the rebuild was nowhere near 6500...

My prices are VERY competetive with other rotary shops and 9 times out of 10 I undercut them.

Oh, thanks for the compliments...

Oh yeah....Chris is very reasonable. I spent a lot of bux on VITON vacuum hoses ($300) a new radiator ($175), new gaskets (more $$$ than I care to dwell on), new (to me) turbos,
all new hoses...every hose, lots of other stuff that added up here and there. The engine, porting, gasket set, and shipping was like....$4500 or so.
I pulled and reinstalled the engine myself.

Are you planning on removing and installing the engine , or do you want a shop to do it? If you are looking to drop your car off, it is much easier to locate a competent shop local to you

Quite simply, they....exaggerate....their claim. I checked into them and one thing they told me is that they NEVER refund the core cost because "we've never had a good enough core returned to us". So I was INSTANTLY looking at right at $4K for an engine from them.
I am sure they make a great engine and their service and warranty looks top notch, just don't expect to get a rebuild for $2500 from them.

Give Adam a call @ Rx7 Specialties in Calgary Canada....he can do 3mm seals....ceramic coating.....oil mods.......large streetporting.....dowell pinning.......and has some nice other add ons including an oil pan brace........(no leaks/ and strength).....he builds for guys all over the world and does alot of USA engines......the above costs me aprox 6300 us and can handle 500 rwhp(it will be alot less if u pull/install your own motor) ..that includes 2 rotor housings aswell.......403-246-6980.....
