what is the difference then?

i haven't noted anything different between the two, the manual tranny bolts to an original auto equipped tranny exactly as it would to its original counterpart.

The main difference is how the starter bolts up. You can mate the manual tranny to the auto rear plate, but not the other way around without some extra help/work.

thanks for the answers, i actually scared my self, thinking that the motor i got had an auto rear plate because it had a counterwight on the e shaft but it was just because the previous owner used an aftermarket flywheel, totally slipped my mind.
