Question 2-3000rpm hesitation (or bogg)

(Keep in mind my car is a daily driver) When the car is first turned on and driven, it's extremely smooth I have no problem. Second time after turned off and turned back on it's still fine. Usually around the third time the car is turned off and back on and driven in the same day I sometimes get a strange bog or hesitation when trying to keep steady rpm BUT only between 2-3,000rpms. Anything above 3,000rpms the band is smooth, could this be a sign that my timing belt is ready to be changed?? At what mileage do RX7's need there belt changed.... Another strange thing to be noted is when I do get the bogg usually If I floor the car thru a gear or two it solves the problem..strange lol

You don't have a timing belt.

You probably need to do a valve job.

Alternatively, you could search for 'hesitation'. Only 100% reliable way of fixing it is buying a PFC.

Yeah the really only sure fire way of fixin' it is a pcf (ECU). Mine does it around 2k. It'll stumble and sputter sometimes.

No PFC needed

As I just posted elsewhere, my _serious_ 3k hesitation was completely solved by improved ground straps and extra battery cables several years before I installed a PFC. Search elsewhere and read the FAQ.

However, if you think you need a timing belt you probably need to do a lot more reading before you understand what we're talking about.

Heck, that's a good deal then. Anyone know if that's true?

I have a bog almost similar to you but I have pretty much narrowed it down to the sparkplugs. If I step on the trottle to quick when on boost It will start back firing like a mother ******. The problem is more apparent in hot weather.

Thanks guys, yeah mine is the exact same way I dont really get it in cold weather.. thanks I changed my ground wire awhile back, not sure what it could be I will see how much longer I can deal with it until I snap and force fix it.. Nice to hear we dont have to worry about changing timing belts! No matter how much you know even the wisest man will still learn new things everyday.. ; )
