When I've seen that happen, it's generally a missed ground wire.

ok cool, well i bought a brand new Coil Harness for the build, so i dont have a ground for that. Ill check for that other Ground. i know there is a ground wire that comes off the UIM, is that a nessesity as well?

its a new style coil pack harness so there is no ground, not sweatin that one. the ground on the left side of the engine is grounded, that rules it out, the harness is ground where the rack bolts down, on the backside of the uim, and where it plugs into the ecu. is there anyother grounds? i cant think of any others

IF its not grounds what else could it be? We checked all the grounds there all fine. What we did check also was the Plug from the harness that goes to the Coil Harness. The Ground wire on it was showing ground when the car was off, then showing power when the key was turned on... Can a ground wire Ground, and also run power? We dont think so. so that was weird.
We tried it with the Stock ECU in there,still dosent solve the No spark issue. Any other recommendations? Its the same harness i had when the car was running.Thanks guys! -Mark |
Have you checked the fuses and relays? Main fuse, EGI, etc?

Yea checked all those. We did have to swap out the CAS plugs, solder them together. so ill double check the connections, and the plugs. The white Plug is on top correct?

There are 2 connectors on the inside of the car that need to be plugged in to the harness, did you get them? The white one and the blue one.
For future reference, that ground on the old style ignition harness is just a shielding. So if not connected you will never notice. |
yea those are connected there kinda far up the harness inside the car correct?

Yes, the white CAS connector is on the top. Something I just thought of, are your CAS sensors undamaged/close enough to the pully? I do remember hearing about occasions where people have had to put thin spacers behind their sensors to close the gap.

weird i have no idea, they should be fine, my engine builder put them on, so they should be ok.
IF i am getting fuel should my plugs be wet? i KNOW i am getting fuel to the fuel lines cause we took them off, and out dumped fuel. |
I didn't read the whole thread, but have you verified that you don't have the fuel feed and return lines mixed up?

nope there fine. I just double checked the CAS plugs, i cant get the top one the "click" in, but it seems like its as far as it can go.
SO Checked CAS Checked Grounds, (Main Harness under coils, inside cabin, on housing, 2 on the back of UIM one by strut tower, etc) Checked for rust inside Coils Checked for rust inside Wires NEW Coil Harness NEW Wires NEW Plugs Turned OFF O2 sensor on PFC cause my Wideband is in its place Eliminated Airpump(Just hid the wire, Do i need to do anything else?) What else? Again would the Spark Plugs be wet if i had fuel, im sure i do have fuel cause the Feed line going into the Nest has Fuel. Any suggestions be appreciated! Thanks for all the responses so far! -Mark |

What you can do is try to crank it over. Then immediately pull the bottom two plugs and see if you have any fuel on them. Have you tried testing for spark? |
thanks Mahjik, Ill try doing that. We have tested for spark, Pulled the plug, and cranked, and there was no spark.

SHE LIVES! i have no idea what i did. I just tore it all down UIM and Coils, and tripple checked the grounds, hooked it all back up, and cranked it and Shes ALIVE! hell yes!

PFFFT! i just jump the gun dont i? After i let it warm up i go to Rev it up a bit, and it just stumbles and backfires at 1500-2000 RPM. Dosent matter what i do, if i floor it it will do the same. Could this be a stuck injector?
And now i believe i have flooded the engine, so ill de-flood, but what you guys think stuck primary? |
Considering you've had some work done on the CAS connectors, I would check to see if the ECU is getting the proper signal.

the CAS connector has 2 color coded wires that we matched up & soldered, we then used some shrink tube over were we soldered them, then wrapped the rest of the harness with electrical tape. pretty hard to mess that up isnt it?

BTW, have you done a sensor check in the PFC? You have a lot of troubleshooting help on hand with the PFC. If everything is reporting within operating parameters in the PFC, then I would start looking at more mechanical aspects.
