I do, although I haven't played seriously in many years. I am trying to get back on the horse so to speak, but my many projects (and work) keep getting in the way.

Yea man. i hear ya, i haven't touched it in quite some time either, between my build, and work. BLAh no time to do anything, haha.

Thanks for the link, but there is no pictures, these things need to be archived so the pics show, cause without, there sorta useless.

^^^ Thanks man,

So i recived my AEM wideband today! yay thanks Stubble88!

So im curious i have a EGT and a AEM wideband, where should the EGT be located for best reading, in the mid-pipe, or the downpipe?

Also do i need a 02 sensor ( i have stock DP still) cause if not, i think the wideband would plumb right into the stock bung would it not? looks like it to me.

Also, im not going to get a water gauge cause my PFC would do the trick, is that safe to assume?

^^ ttt need some info boys!

Tom93R1 03-30-08 02:09 AM

Your EGT should go in the down pipe up close to the turbo
you dont need the O2 sensor, you can turn off the O2 feedback in the PFC if you choose. I have my wideband in the stock O2 sensor location of my downpipe just like you are asking.
You indeed can use your PFC commander to read your water temps, thats what I do and have no aftermarket water gauge

Rx72Heaven 03-30-08 03:23 AM

Thanks for the swift reply Tom, appreciate it. Glad to know my wideband o2 will drop into the existing o2. i have another question though...

If i were to put my EGT as close as possible to the DP that would make my life much easier, would this be ok? since my wideband is right far up the DP, the EGT will just be another fail safe. But will my reading be much off if its only a foot further down?

Tom93R1 03-30-08 11:11 AM

Since you are measuring the exhaust gas temperature you should get it as close to the source as possible, so really you would want it in the manifold. The further away the cooler the temps are. Think about it this way, by the time the exhaust is out the back you can put your hand over it and wont get burned, cant be more than 150 degrees or so. Rotaries can easily put out pretty high exhaust temps, lets say about 1000 degrees at idle. If it has cooled 850 degrees in the length of your exhaust (10 feet or so?) do you really want to put it 2 or 3 feet down in your mid pipe?

Rx72Heaven 03-30-08 01:47 PM

yea i guess your totally right. Good call. I willl be in need of a JDM downpipe then. SHouldnt cost too much, im getting pretty low on cash, but we'll see.

Engine Pics

So i got to go see how my tear down is going today, and wow, when i Blew my engine, i made sure i did it right!! The Apex that i blew, snapped right off, and took out the other 2 Apex seals! While lodging itself in the rotor! Crazy! And the houing is all tore up. I was going to get new housings and Rotors anyways, but wow, sure did get er done so to speak! haha. Heres some pics:

Dude - I'm trying the bedliner stuff on my plastics this weekend.

That stuff is going to be durable as hell!

GREAT IDEA

TimmyFD 04-11-08 07:59 AM

hey that is a pretty cool idea for the interior parts, what brand truck liner did you use? and how is the build coming?

TimmyFD 04-11-08 08:38 AM

whoops, nevermind i only saw the first page of this thread, i saw someone else had the same question on page 2 my bad. nice build though, good job

Ok im out again, need to put the damn rats nest on! So i just figured out yesterday im running in parallel, when i bought the car i guess it was running in parallel. Any Solenoids i don't need to hook up? i think i will hook them up anyways, but i just want to know. Also Vac lines? like the ones to the Actuator i wont hook up, but any others? This may simplify my install of the rats nest.

You know, I have said that very same thing 2 weeks in a row now. I just realized an hour ago that I screwed up the metal ring that snaps into the throwout bearing. Now I have to pull the engine out again, or remove the transmission. At this point, neither one is looking like very much fun.

:wallbash:

Hopefully you have more luck than I seem to be having.

Rx72Heaven 05-10-08 01:04 PM

Haha well heres to hoping!

Rx72Heaven 05-12-08 10:39 AM

Hey guys, we figured out when i was installing the Turbos's im running in Parallel! BLAGH! no biggie i guess, but what vac hoses do i not need? This should simplify allot of things shouldn't it?

Rx72Heaven 05-13-08 12:32 AM

Well we filled her all up with fluids, got oil Pressure, and cranked away, and she wouldn't start. Just kept cranking. We check Fuel, it has Fuel, but we think it may not have spark. I bought a New Coil harness, we installed that, but thats all. New Plugs, new wires. Were going to test tomorrow if it has any power to the Plus, Wires, harness and coils.

Just curious if you guys have any suggestions as to what to try, or what to look for. I cant see the new coil harness being faulty. But, any insight would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

Hey, you're not the only one with those problems :(

Check to see if you're getting fuel. It could be flooded, it doesn't take much.

If you're not.....however.......

Your primary injectors may have stuck shut after sitting with no fuel in them. Both of mine were. I fixed that, unfortunately it's not the end of my troubles.

Rx72Heaven 05-13-08 01:23 AM

well it seems were getting fuel, we'll check the plugs to see if they are wet tomorrow, but were sure that its just no spark.
