engine pics with colored vacuum lines

im going to be redoing my lines this weekend and have to buy the lines SOON. i need to see some pics of cars with different colors of lines so i can decide. my car is black so if its a black FD tahts even more helpful. i just dont want it to look stupid later......

im thinking either gloss black, silver, yellow, or red

im leaning more towards yellow or red (figure i should put some accents somewhere.....)

thanks

I don't have any pics but I went with red silicon lines from Hosetechniques since I have a R2, and the red looks great against the black car and the red strut brace.

I will get some for you though ASAP.

i just ordered yellow - gotta get them in by this weekend...... hopefully it looks alright. i wont be putting it on the windshield washer lines or any of that crap, so i dont think itll be too much color and i figure yellow is a good accent for black.

eh whatever.....should mostly all be coming off when i go single anyways....

would still like to see pics of y'alls setups though....so please post whatcha got

If your only doing the solenoid rack, then you will not really see the lines, except two of the them. I have blue in a red engine, and like them. But unless you are changing the ones the that stand out, its not going to make a difference in what color you pick.

This is the flo-blue line from Hose Techniques, if I wanted to be silly enough to put a black light under my hood supposedly it'd glow, I picked it for it's shade of blue.

Other pics of my red car with red lines can be found elsewhere on my site. Just look around.

I did my vacume hose in thick wall blue/purple silicone hoses. I got the hose at Baker Performance product the silver and the black hoses will cost alittle more than the other color. Take your time and do it right the first time:p

i got some ugly rust-orange colorded hoses that I ordered from mcmaster-carr... their catalog lists it as some kinda red. it costs less then half of what the hose tech ones do (about $40) for everything with lots left over.

plus, it is pretty high quality. it fits very snug even without being tied down, and I didnt have any problem with it crimping.... too bad it is ugly.

since most of it is under the solenoid rack, i figured it didnt matter.

i'll see if i can get some pictures...

what do y'all think about yellow??
think it will be an eyesore??

im really torn between that and red...each hour i lean back and forth between the two....need to decide before hose techniques sends them off

Does Hose Tech have BLACK hoses? I'm not really into the contrasted colors. The only color I want under the hood would be chrome or polished. What can I say?....I'm a "black and white (or should I say chrome?)" kind of guy. :p

Or does anyone make stainless steel covered vacuum lines? Probably won't be practical since there are too many short, tight curves under the intake manifold...but for the other straighter lines in the engine bay?

rx7_rcr

im also a kinda black/silver/polished kinda guy

i jsut think the yellow would be a nice accent if used very sparingly. they have some gloss black lines, but i thought itd be a bitch to keep track of what i had and hadnt changed out.

once i go single i will probably just have the silver/black thing going....i dunno. gotta see how the yellow accents work out.

That's my wastegate aquator vent, I'm non-seq so it's not connected to the solenoid anymore, I have it open a tiny bit. If it was full open I'd get unlimited boost, and if it was full closed it won't build boost.

The other line next to it is my dawes boost controller in the wastegate actuator feed line.

Thumbs up

Hey Alaska!! That's a great looking set-up!!!!! I just ordered the Pettit Unlimited and a boost controller also going with a resonated midpipe.(smog elim. kit). Seems like our only differences will be my stock intercooler (still saving) and i'm sequential. Anyway I was just wondering how you like your set-up and if you had problems with boost creep. If you did how did you solve it. ALSO how do you like the unlimited..Thanks for any input!!

My mods.....
Pettit..intake, down, catback,power pulleys, short shifter, radiator,boost gauge,ast...
cusco strut tower brace.
