So I called Ray and ordered a replacement drivers side stock motor mount. I get it and its black so I know it is the wrong one. I call him and he said that they are now using the same mount for both sides. So, now I have a problem with what to do to support the vacant stud location where the original mount has a raised area to support the oil pan. I'm installing a Banzai oil pan brace but still worried about it leaking. Any thoughts?

 

i would say send it back and look for aftermarket mounts.

you have to have a bolt in that hole or you will leak oil.

It will leak unless you put something in there to close the gap. The mount is the correct one. The replacement mount is steel, which replaces the old aluminum one. The old mount was prone to failure. It should be fairly easy to fabricate something to fill the gap.

I would not get an aftermarket mount.

 

Yeah I looked at aftermarket mounts and decided to stay stock. I'm not generating monster HP and torque, and I'm not tracking the car, so the stockers are fine. I have to imagine that I can't be the only person to run into this problem.

With the brace installed you should not have any problems. If you feel like it you can sandwich a spacer between the mount and the brace where the nub would have been on the aluminum mount. A 12mm nut works well.

 

i'm not quite sure what you are asking, but I just replaced both of mounts with stock one and just installed the banzai brace at the same time. I didn't encounter any problems. I think pictures will help this thread a lot more.
