Is this engine a good buy? help!!

Am going to buy a second FD but a roller this time and want it to be a single turbo. I found a engine but want to know if its a good buy for what am looking to do which is a single turbo conversion running around 600-700 hp. All the help is appreciated and what i should be looking for when checking out the engine. thanks

Ad: The motor is on stock twins with 3mm apex seal. Also has a street port and ull get the downipes and everything included.HKS intercooler and apex fc commmander. The only thing is someone stole the data screen from my car so i have the full ecu which is the most important part but not the screen. Also the oil pan is leaking but it should be a easy fix since the motor is out.The motor runs great.I and it was on my fd for a while till i decided to go ls on it.So you get a semi built motor with the intercooler transmission and apex fc commander for 1800 bucks.Im open to offers so let me know so we can work something out.You can come and see the motor whenever u like.

It depends on who built the motor, i'm not an expert but for 600-700 hp you might need more than 3mm seals.

Ask for a compression check and a coolant pressure test. For those horse power goals you want to have some porting done too.

Around 110 psi on all faces for the compression test. Do a search fot the coolant test. I dont know much about it, never did one, never had to.

If it runs well and the compression numbers are good than yes. The Apexi PFC would run you around 7-800 dollars with the commander used. The engine/tranny is worth 1500 easily if its in good shape and he can prove it. On the other hand, it could be worth 500 dollars if hes full of ****.

But you might not make the kind of power you are looking for if it has stock ports.

+1 on the compression test, i really wouldn't buy the engine w/o a compression test in that circumstance. A good amount of people rather the LS over the factory engine but in a few of them cases they wait to LS swap until their engine is due for a rebuild..kind of the wait till it breaks to fix it idea, ya know what im saying.....

search "rx7 rotary champagne test" on youtube for testing the coolant system.
seems like a decent deal, but like someone above said, you're gonna need some serious port work and one massive turbo to hit 600+
