engine cuts out after 2 seconds of running. please help.
rite, first i wanna thank the people that helped me with their ideas to get the car running after i rebuilt it myself. it was the vacume pipes on the oil feeders into the engine.!
it started and i ran it for about 10 mins and then turned here off and started it again a bit later but now when i start it she just dies after about 2 seconds of running. even if i put my foot on the throttle it does the same!
any ideas?
thanks.

Sounds like its not getting proper fuel pressure constantly. Even though the pump is running it might not be supplying high enough pressure. There are two relays (one near battery and one near front of the car) that control this. You can check them along with the filter. It sounds like it is probably the one located in the relay box nearest the front. You can short it using a jumper wire but you need to check the manual to verify which two posts to connect.

hang on, i have just taken the engine out and rebuilt it. i am asking you guys for a bit of help. so please dont tell me to 'Take it to a mechanic, sounds like you're not that familiar with the engine. Don't mess it up more.'
that post was just un nessesary.
i never post things like this but you have really got on my nerves by saying that.

after having a play around, i can hear that something clicks and then the engine cuts out. i think it is being cut out by the ecu. thats what it sounds like. what would make the ecu cut out the engine? could it be a vacume pipe has come off somewhere?

Troubleshooting:
1. What we basically need to run the engine - fuel and spark.
2. So you have both to start with so either there is not enough fuel or the spark is no longer there.
3. Fuel is way easier to check so start there.
I am assuming your car was running fine before engine was lost so filter is probably not the first thing I would check unless it sat a long time. Double check the lines to make sure they are not hooked up backwards then do a test to make sure you are getting fuel flow.
Once you are positive fuel is running through the lines properly you can then move onto the harder one to troubleshoot (spark).

Man I had same problem 2 days ago, when i put my engine in. My problem was that I swapped 2 green connectors. One goes to Fuel Thermosensor and other to Watter Thermosensor.
AFter I put them the way they are suppose to go, all was fine.
