Emissions removal block off plates

Recently purchased an fd rx7. The emissions equipment has already been disabled, harnesses and vacuum lines. But the actual units are still in place. I would like to clean up the engine bay a bit and free up some room. I already have the idler pulley on order. And im thinking while im at it might as well remove everything else and put in block off plates. All the block off plates ive seen never comes with any sort of gaskets or sealant. And im wondering if i need to get gaskets or do you just bolt the plates down once removed.

I used a small amount of RTV to seal mine up.

Use the gasket from the part you are removing

Both responses are accurate. If the gasket is in good shape, it'll work fine. If the gasket is a bit dodgy, clean the surface well and use a light smear of RTV.

Check these out IRP FD Stainless Steel Blockoff Plates | IR Performance LLC

You can use either high temp rtv (I like Locktite 5900) or gaskets. The metal gaskets can be re-used in most cases if the rubberized coating is intact. If they are paper they will often rip.
