What is easiest way to test HVAC blend door? (mix actuator)
Do I have to tear back into my dash in order to test blend door's functionality? Anyone have a recommendation or even a tutorial on how to approach fixing this issue? **** isn't the problem. zero temp change with or without ac on when i go from cold to hot positions on temp dial. ac gauges are reading right where they should. I'm pretty certain my blend door is stuck open. i'm getting hot air mixing in with my conditioned air.
Rx7ADK,
Do you have a copy of the BEM (Body Electrical Troubleshooting Manual)? I recommend that you follow Flowchart #5 on Pg G-21 of the BEM. If the electrical side is good then there may be a mechanical linkage problem with the Air Mix Acutator. Again, the BEM can assist you on Pg G-40.

There is a Mitchell maintenance manual floating around for FDs online. If you scroll towards the bottom of the AC section, there are illustrated, extremely easy to follow steps on how to test all the blender door motors.
If you can access the wire harness for the blender motors from under the dash, that's the easiest way to test them (I tested mine with everything out of the car)

Thank you everyone for all your help and ideas. So for the record...blend door was the problem. Gauges don’t lie! Electrical harness wasn’t fully seated behind dash! Free fix! I’m at nearly 40 degrees cold air on hot motor, 94 degree day with 66% humidity! Thx guys!
