electronic air induction?

The car I'm about to buy has an hks electronic air induction system, that's there but i need to hook up. I did some searching online and had minimal results, perhaps i put in the wrong words but does anybody know what this is and what kind of results it yields?

what is it exactly though and is it even beneficial. If it helps even slightly i might as well hook it up since it's already there but if it's detrimental i'll just rip it out. thanks

I've never heard of it either. HKS makes a couple of air induction kits, but neither one of them is "electronic".
