Electrical Nightmare...What Gives?
OK...last week I leave my driveway...a mile or so down, my brother calls me to come back home cause I had the key to a car in the driveway that he was going to show off.
I start driving and hear the sound of a horn...I'm like "Why is this person in front of me honking?"
Then I realize it's my horn....and it wouldn't shut off. It just...turned on suddenly, and wouldn't stop.
I came home, and all we could do was take out the relay from under the hood.
If the car was off, horn was off.
If the car was to the "ON" position, it was STILL fine.
It wasn't until I STARTED the car, that the horn would go off.
Now TODAY...
Same damn thing happens with my hazard lights?!??!??!
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat the hell?
Car's off. Hazards off.
Car's "ON"...Hazards off...everything fine.
Car's STARTED...hazards are on and won't turn off.
Obviously not a blown fuse. I ended up having to take out the 15 fuse for "Hazards" by the driver's side kick panel and drive to/from work with no friggin' turn signals. Great.
What the HELL gives? SOOOOO random!!!!! Why???
The Pettit AST I ordered came with some cheap ground kit. I took it out not even 5 minutes after initially installing it.
Horn problem was before the AST and cheap ground kit.
Hazards problem was today.
Goddddddddddd how annoying.
First the horn...then my door handle going limp after tugging the sh*t out of it, thanks to my doors being frozen shut...and now no turn signals? Wow, what a pain in the rear.
Any ideas?

im having sort of the same problem only my hazards are going even when the car is off i have no idea what it could be this is my first rx i also have one for parts so if anyone could pass on some knowledge about this problem it would be greatly appreciated !!
Similar thing happened to a Carmy I drove at a car auction place, horn will go off randomly as I turn the steering wheel.
Your best bet is to trace the circuit and see where's the ground source, probably a wire getting grounded somewhere.

try looking at the CPU under the dash, check and replace all worn relays and fuses. it may also have to do with the 2JZ swap, possibly a bad ground issue? im going to assume that the ground points are different, check to see that all are in a good mounting place and are on strong.

I'm only familiar to FD electrical systems, if the FC has a similar alarm/cut-off system, I would trace that system first. Sounds like you got a short in either a relay module or switch that "stucks" and not release during the "Start" position.
Just get a VOM meter with aligator clips to connect to exposed terminals when unplugging the relay module one at a time. You'll next to follow the electrical path from a schematic diagram. Start with the ones that are more easily accessable rather than going under the dashboard (save that for last).
Use the Ohm range to test for continuity (0 readings) and short testing (higher than 0 Ohms). Switches which are NORMALY open should read 0 Ohms, those that are NORMALY close during ON current should read 12 volts DC.

HOLY 5 1/2 YEAR OLD THREAD REVIVAL, BAT MAN!!!!
Don't you guys ever look at that stuff??
Not to be a dick, but not only did you bring back a 5 1/2 year old thread of mine, but you own a 2nd gen, and you're posting in the 3rd gen section?
C'mon man..
