Ok i did the auto to manual swap, I followed Tim's plug and play but I have a few issues. I am in the process of retracing wires but there are things that don't make sense. Every time I turn iff the ingnition for more then a few minutes the trip odometer goes to zero? The temp gauge isn't working either. I replaced with a good sending unit and traced the wires and my connections are good as I ohmed them out. Knock sensor is faulty, i cut it during new engine install tried to spice the wires but it knocks badly and doesn't have power bought one will be here soon. But what do you guy's think of my other probles?? Any help is greatly needed!!

All I know is about the knock sensor wire. You can NOT cut that wire, splice it, whatever - it's a shielded wire. There's a wire core, insulation, then a braid, then more insulation. The braided shield cuts down on interference with the very weak signal from the knock sensor.

If you cut and try to repair the wire, you have to insure that you don't have the braid coming into contact with the core, or you'll have all kinds of problems. I believe the braid is actually grounded as well - I know when I tore down/rebuilt the engine harness on my old FC, the braid was pulled out near the ECU and connected to a ground wire.

On the trip odometer - there has to be some sort of constant 12v source to the speedometer that keeps the trip computer alive when the car is off. That's where I'd start.
