Electrical Issues
I think it's an electrical issue, anyways
What happened: I was out driving and I had slightly raised the boost due to colder ambient temperatures. The fuel is set for for 15 psi, but I this night I drove at around 12 psi. I gave it some full throttle as I had spent most of the day driving and wanted to get some carbon out, then all of a sudden I hit ignition break up, except this time the car shut off and revived itself. A short maybe? The car had a history of ignition break up at higher boost, which is why I keep it generally low most of the time. I was in the South end of my city but took the expressway to the North. I had to slow down for a yield, but when my car's rpm dropped below 3000, it died. It won't start up anymore.
What I've tried:
I am currently going through a workshop manual to trouble shoot this issue, but with university back in session, and with me in a different city than my car now, I'm starting to run out of time. I don't want my car to collect dust. That being said, I have searched for threads that may relate to my issue, but have failed to solve the problem. I am pretty sure it's an electrical issue, but I wanted to run it through everyone to see if I can get a mtual agreement on it.
Footnotes:
- Car won't start
- Possible ignition break up could have shorted something
- Replaced the spark plugs; trailings foul and leadings don't seem to be doing much
- There is still electricity firing out of the plugs
- There should still be enough compression to start the engine
- The car still cranks on its own
Thanks for your time!
Oh, mods: Street port, power FC, full freeflow 3" exhaust.. those should be the only modifications that would be important in this case.

What I've tried:
- I haven't checked compression numbers, but the pulses are even and they sound strong. Even if it was low compression, the car should at least start, I would think.
- I have tried all new spark plugs. What happens is the trailings become fouled, and the leading plugs don't seem to causing much spark.
- I have checked the arcs of electricity on the plugs themselves and all four check out as good.
- I replaced my secondary injectors with freshly cleaned as my car always kept reflooding. I now think it is only reflooding because of an electrical issue, and not a fuel delivery issue.
- I have tried changing out the battery. The battery in my car with the assist from a boost started off with 13.9V. During cranking, it would drop down to about 9.8V. I had then tried a different battery. With a boost, it started off with 13.9 as well, but then dropped down to 11.7V during cranking. Cranking RPM seems to increase as the cranking volts increase, which further pushes my belief of an electrical issue.
- I had reset my ecu to see if it was sending bad signals, but the same problem still occurs.
- I have also borrowed a friend's coilpacks to see if that was the issue and it still won't start. My friend put the coilpacks in his car and he still managed to get his car started still.
