Electric Water Pump anyone?

The idea seems great and there is a source out there for them, but has anyone actually done it???

And with Evans coolant do you keep the water pump? Not totally up to speed on that one...

Meizere (sp?) makes one for the rotary, but I'm waiting on more people's experience before taking the plunge. Not sure if it will hold up to daily use, or if its strictly a race part.

Evans coolant needs to be circulated thru the cooling system as part of the heat exchange process just like 'stock' coolant, so it does need a pump.

Summit Racing sells them. Try it out and let us know.

From the information (probably more misinformation)that I've heard, the rotary adapter piece for the 13b actually replaces the entire water pump housing. Therefore you do not have a place to mount the alternator and must find an alternative place to mount it. If you go to there website, they do mention alternator relocation. Hope this helps - Tommy

I am running a CSI 925 seemed to work well for what I wanted, it requires some custom fab work on your part to run a setup like this though.

I have the Meziere water pump (Meziere 336 Billet inline Electric Water Pump) . It does come with an adaptor plate that eliminates the whole water pump assembly. Which means that you have to relocate your alternator and obviously delete the air pump (that’s if you still have it). You have two options for the WP one that flows 55 GPM the 336 (or they call it the 337 too, the only difference is one has one in and two out and the other has one in and one out) or one that flows 35 GPM the 116. There is also two options for the adaptor plate one are the WP90 and the other is WP91. Again there the same thing except one has one in two out and the other has one in and one out. The one I use is one in one out WP91. If you want to know about the whole set up I can post on it or pm you, because there is a ton more. Hope that helps a little
Dave

I am using the Meziere pump on my C5,I know its not a rotary but it works great.I have been using the pump for over a year w/no problems and it runs very cool in the Florida heat, even on the track at Sebring.

there have already been post about this. someone said that hte VW vr6 have aux waterpumps to keep water flowing even though the engine is off (to help with cool down) and it allows water/coolant to flow thru when it is shut off so your stocker one should still work. eletrical waterpumps are ususally used for drag applications and are not recommended for daily drivers. whatever you do, keep an eye on that water temp gauge.

on the other note (the evens coolant)... hell yes you keep some kinda water pump! its not a magical fluid. it just has no water in it and has a higher boiling point. you have to have it circulation to cool down.

in anycase, does anyone happen to know the gallons per min that the stock water pump puts out?
