here is a link to the brand that i am using http://www.dmhperformance.com/, I have never had any issues with this system. If you would like pictures let me know. And as far as sound goes, yeah it gets loud but it sounds so sick at least i think so.. and spool time is definitely faster http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ORrABbmY2s

I had DMH cutouts on my midpipes when I have a 2005 GTO. LT headers to catless mids with their "low profile" cutouts welded into my mids. Open those up and it was open headers and rumbled with the large cam. Whenever I saw a cop, closed them

I have them on my Stage 3 S4 right now and I like it, but there really is nothing better sounding than it on a V8. Don't know if I like it on the rotary

I was contemplating using one of these on my RB duals since they are so quiet. I was going to put it AFTER the cat though so it wouldnt really be for performance, and I would most likely have a separate dump pipe for it, or try to tie it back in to the exhaust after the muffler (but the space to do that is very tight). It would be nice to have my car nice and quiet for the neighbors and around town but crack the cutout for some fun highway driving. I suppose their smallest cutout would be the correct one for my purposes

here are some clearance shots for you.. i have no real issue other than the normal clearance issues when driving.

if you do put one of these on it is a good idea to put some type of turn down on it as you can see in this test run the flame reaches from the front of the car out the back

On my older 3 inch exhaust set up I had no issues with clearance at all. Once I decided to make my 4 inch exhaust there's not as much room to make a perfect fit. But I believe you will have no clearance issues at all just make sure you tell te person putting it on to tuck it up there. Once it's on you can have fun on the highway!

These are "technically" illegal in my State...although I think they're pretty widely used on Rods and other sports cars and not widely enforced. For anyone dealing with visual inspections, you might want to check your State law closely.

I was thinking about using these for a boost controlling device i've been working on. Are these really air tight? For my application, I need it to be able to hold at least 25psi without letting any air pass by the valve.

There is a shop close to my house that uses some type of electronic pressure controller on his six second car, and many others they built, in the sense that it will have lets say 40psi but only let through the desired amount until full pressure is wanted. im not sure if thats what you are looking for

That's exactly what I'm looking for, any chance you can get some detail on what he's using?

I was planning to buy a couple electric cutouts and either use my ECU or a hobbs switch to control them, but this will only work if they actually seal and hold pressure.

Thanks

Anyone else have experiences with these electric cutouts that they would like to share. I have a greddy racing titanium exhaust and am tired of the modified exhaust tickets and am switching to stock exhaust. This is the only alternative i see with having a stock catback. I only drive the car about once a month and would like to enjoy it without getting harassed by the local PD while in town and would like to open it up once in a while while im on the highway.
