EGT Gauge: Rises when Park or on a stop

Hi Everyone:

I just got back my car from a Rotory Shop last week for some fan issues I was having (Wiring harness got melted together and caused my fans to stay on all the time). Anyways, when I was driving it back I noticed that the EGT gauge was acting strange. When I'm at a stop light, the EGT gauge would climb and stay at 800 degrees celcius. But once I get back on the throttle the EGT would go back down. I also noticed this when I was warming up my car. Anything I should look at to resolve this?

I would think that to be normal. The fastest way to heat up your car on a cold winter morning is to fire it up and let it idle.

Not sure what's up but 800-C at idle is no where near normal. Check your gauge connections first, perhaps they left the EGT sender unplugged.
